According to the scientists, this winter and next are likely to offer the best diplays of Northern Lights for many years, so there's never been a better time to go!
Land of the Northern Lights
If you saw the BBC TV programme 'Joanna Lumley in the Land of the Northern Lights' you cannot fail to have been amazed, and scientists are saying this winter and next are set to offer the best displays of Northern Lights in years! The lovely city of Tromso is where Joanna Lumley found the Northern Lights, and a 3-night Tromso Break is available at £850 p.p. We can even book you a tour with Joanna Lumley's guide - Kjetil Skogli! You can also combine Tromso with a scenic voyage to the beautiful Lofoten Islands, with Kirkenes on the the Russian border, or with a stunning rail journey through the Arctic wilderness to Sweden's famous Ice Hotel!
Alternatively, you can opt for our best-selling 7-night 'Land of the Northern Lights' tour which takes a similar route to Joanna Lumley's, with a train journey across the Arctic Circle and a couple of nights in Lofoten before reaching Tromso for the last two nights. The tour offers great value at £1,495 p.p.
New for 2011-12 is a 7-night 'Best of Arctic Norway' tour linking Tromso and Kirkenes with Karasjok - the Sami 'capital', offering a journey of discovery through the varied nature and culture of the north. Excellent value at £1,450 p.p.
The Ice Hotel and Kiruna Breaks
Like all good ideas it has been copied, but Sweden's Ice Hotel remains in a class of its own! We offer a variety of short breaks to the Ice Hotel including an optional stopover in Stockholm. The Ice Hotel can be added to longer itineraries - which provide better value for money, and of course more chances of seeing the Northern Lights. Tromso and the Ice Hotel has proved a popular combination - linked with a spectacular rail journey through the Arctic wilderness.
Kiruna itself offers a lot to see and do, and we are now offering Kiruna breaks staying in high-quality accommodation at Camp Ripan, where a varied programme of excursions includes the opportunity to visit the Aurora Sky Sation at Abisko. It is possible to combine Camp Ripan with a night in the Ice Hotel, or you can take a snowmobile safari or minibus trip to the Ice Hotel to admire he amazing ice sculptures.
Special Offer: £40p.p.p.n. Reduction for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights in the Ice Hotel
Summer
Our website was updated with 2011 prices and hopefully these prices will soon be updated for 2012. We are no longer producing a hard-copy of the brochure, as most holidays are now tailor-made, but we can still supply a copy of the 2010 version if you wish, to give you an idea of the options available. Tailor-made holidays are our speciality, and anything on the website or in the brochure can be adapted, combined or extended to give you exactly the holiday you are looking for, and we will be happy to quote on request.
